Detailed notes about possible set/locations, camera locations, available or potential lighting, safety hazards and other aspects that could affect your production.

Sheds, detective office, garage, possibly school grounds. The killings occur in a shed or garage. Either one gives us the desired atmosphere for the filming of the torture and inevitable death/hanging. Almost every house has a shed or garage of sorts which is why we thought it would be a good place for them to occur.

This could be happening in any one of the houses in Dannemora without our knowledge. Due to the universal similarity of garages and sheds alike we have an array of possibilities. We could use my garage, Laurence’s or even the caretakers shed. (given consent) Any of these locations could be used or even all of them depending on how many deaths we wish to portray.

The only necessity is that the location is slightly run down. The structure itself doesn’t need to be however as with clever camera work and the right props and lighting we can make a nice suburban garage look like a forgotten rundown shack.

The detective’s office can be filmed in any room that is clean, slightly Spartan and has a long table/desk. This can be pulled off anywhere, preferably it would be good to have a room with blinds as this gives an official and clinical police feel that we wish to portray. There will be case files upon the desk in a seemingly unorganised fashion, which is contrast to the plain government style office. Possibly we could ask maybe a parent of ours for the use of their office or even Mr Daley. I do not believe that we will be doing much filming so he should not have a problem with this request however his office is still a contingency plan rather than first choice.

Camera/filming locations are undecided as of yet. We plan to have set up with props and actors in the location before choosing where the scene would be best shot from. We would idealy wish to have two or even three cameras in different locations and angles. This would mean we can cut with ease between shots and get the angle that we believe is best.

We will shooting in days that are HOPEFULLY overcast days as we wish to merge film noir with horror (as tribute to usage of detectives and a detective building) Due to this the majority of the film will be darker with the main light being natural rather than electronic lighting which comes out looking odd when filmed

Safety hazards. There are no real saftey hazards other than very very small choking risk and also use of a knife which could, if not handled correctly potentially cut someone. However we will always be careful and always put the potentially dangerous objects away and out of harms way when they are not being used. Other than that there is always risk of car crashes which is more likely that the risks listed above.

Good reflection here. Do tighten up on those locations and get permissions if needed.
